Technology Alert

Some Windows 10 users report that recent Windows 10 updates KB4579311 and KB4577671, released by Microsoft on October 13, 2020, are breaking their Windows 10 operating systems.  Issues experienced after installing these updates are reported to include:

  • Blue Screens of Death (BSOD)
  • Problems with printing
  • Problems with audio
  • Freezing in Windows File Explorer

PAUSING WINDOWS 10 UPDATES

Microsoft does allow users to temporarily pause their Windows Updates however, in our experience, Microsoft does not always adhere to their own pause setting.  Also keep in mind that the pause is only a temporary delay of the updates.

Visit this web page to view instructions on how to enable your Pause Updates in Windows 10.
